I’m Jonathan Rhyne — Co-founder & CEO of Nutrient (formerly PSPDFKit). We build document infrastructure for developers and the systems they’re now building with AI.

I left a law career to build software, started PSPDFKit in 2014, and have spent the last decade obsessed with one question: how do you build products people can trust when the underlying systems keep changing?

These days that means living at the intersection of documents, workflow automation, and agentic AI — OCR, extraction, redaction, signatures, orchestration, and the accountability layer between model output and real-world decisions.

I write about what’s working, what’s hype, and what actually survives production. If there’s a recurring theme in my work, it’s this: autonomy can be delegated; accountability can’t.
